rauch.de: Seamless TYPO3 upgrade and internationalization with DeepL Translate

For rauch.de, a leading manufacturer of agricultural machinery and specialist for fertilizer spreaders and winter service spreaders, a comprehensive modernization of the website was on the agenda. The reason for this was the need for automated translations usingDeepL Translate for the development of new international language variants.

However, as the previous TYPO3-based website was still running on the outdated TYPO3 version 9 LTS, the actual task for web-vision quickly became clear: an upgrade to TYPO3 12 LTS as a future-proof basis.

Flux elements: The existing flux elements, which stored complex data structures directly in the database, were converted into custom content elements and content blocks. This created the basis for future expandability and maintainability and brought the system closer to the core.

Zero-downtime deployment: The introduction of a deployment workflow, which significantly increased the stability and efficiency of development processes, can now be carried out without any downtimes. Previously, versioned deployments or version control for files were a vision of the future for Rauch, which has now become a standard tool thanks to the implementation of web-vision.

ERP connection: The integration of the extensive partner area with self-registration and approval processes, which is closely linked to the existing ERP system, has also been revised. Whereas previously undocumented third-party extensions were used, documented extensions and TYPO3 core functions are now the new standard.

With the completion of the TYPO3 upgrade, we were able to create the basis for the introduction of AI-supported, automatic translations with the web-vision developed DeepL Translate for TYPO3 .

The integration of all add-ons enables rauch.de to rebuild their website in numerous languages, including German, English, Russian, Chinese, US English and newly added Ukrainian and Czech.

In the coming days and weeks, "grown" translation modes for different pages will now be transferred from free mode, mixed mode to connected mode to ensure consistent content for all languages in the long term.

The DeepL Translate glossary function helps to ensure that existing brand names, specialist terms and technical phrases in particular are always translated consistently.

This opens the door to a global audience for Ruach and significantly strengthens the company's international presence.

Thanks to a well thought-out migration process, the reduction of dependencies and the introduction of modern tools such as DeepL Translate, the rauch.de website was not only technically modernized, but also made fit for the requirements of an international market. With TYPO3 12 LTS as a stable foundation and a clear focus on future-proof developments, rauch.de is ideally positioned for the coming years.
