Magento store development in just 4 months
In February 2024, web-vision took over the Magento project from Vitadrogerie with the aim of bringing stability and performance to the online store. The store, which went live in September 2023, had previously been plagued by numerous problems such as temporary outages, incorrect URL generation and disruptions to order processing. The existing system was outdated, linked to the merchandise management system with proprietary interfaces and the Magento code provided was incomplete - a difficult starting point for smooth operation.
After an in-depth analysis, we decided together with Vitadrogerie AG to completely relaunch the store based on the Hyvä theme. We carried out a thorough clean-up of the database and migration of the inventory data in order to transfer the existing customer base to the new system without any problems.
Within just four months of development time, the Magento store was successfully relaunched in May 2024 without any data loss.
Top loading times and automatic translations
The store was extensively revised and migrated to a stable and modern system based on Magento Open Source in a very short time. The fast and user-friendly Hyvä frontend optimizes loading times and thus enhances the positive shopping experience for store users. In the Google Pagespeed Check, top values were achieved for mobile devices with a score of 96 out of 100 points and even 99 out of 100 points on desktop computers.
With the help of the extension DeepL Translator developed by Extendware, German content was automatically translated into English and French to ensure seamless multilingualism. The additional extension DeepL Translator Auto-Sync also ensures that the content in the individual languages does not diverge when products are updated via the ERP system.
Product feeds and connection to the ERP system
Multilingual product feeds were created to ensure optimal visibility of the products available in the local store as well as the online articles for Google. The product feeds are updated at night and automatically transferred to the Google Merchant Center in order to make it as easy as possible to transfer availability, product updates, different markets and multilingualism for advertisements.
The Magento High Speed Import developed by web-vision was used to connect to the ERP system to manage the current 100,000 or so products. The Magento High Speed Import is now managed independently by Vitadrogerie after a short setup and training.
